The Final Straw

Not again, Jess thought. It's the 3rd time this has happened and now he knew that it wasn't a coincidence.Someone or some people are working against him. His eyes were flaming with fury and he was ready for a battle, but against whom? He knew hundreds of people, and it could be anyone among them. After giving it a deep thought, he decided that it's time to investigate it and take matters into his own hands. With a furious heart and clenched fists, he left the room, slamming the door behind him. The noise was so loud it caught the attention of everyone who was there. He exchanged an enraged look with all of them, left the building, and drove away. He reached home, threw the key away, and started rummaging to find the documents. He cursed himself for not reading the terms properly before signing them. He felt like pulling his hair out of his head when he realized he sold the laptop that had the digital copy of the agreement a month ago. He felt like punching the wall with all of his strength. There was sweat all over his forehead and his throat was dry. But there was no time for drinking water as the clock was ticking and he was on the verge of a panic attack. He picked up the key again and ran out of the house. Without even closing the door he jammed the car keys into the keyhole and drove to the store where he sold it. He reached there in no time but the store was closed. He had no time to spare and decided that he is going to break in. But for that he needed a rod.He had one in the house but bringing it from there was not an option so he decided to do it with a hammer and he knew exactly where he would find one. He bought it for 5 dollars and came back. He broke the lock in the very first strike and went in. To his surprise his laptop was right there sitting on the table among others. He took it and rushed to his house.

Upon reaching he opened the laptop hastingly to see if the file was still there but what he saw on the screen blew his mind. It was a video in which the culprit was clearly seen shuffling and stealing his papers from the office but he can't do anything about it as it was the CEO himself.
