Face to Face with Fate

 

It’s a strange and scary sensation to suddenly forget your own name, but when  a machine gun pointed at your face in point blank range, there is nothing much to be done. It's funny that my life could end at any moment, but here I am smiling and shaking my head, for I knew that this was inevitable the day I joined the police department as an undercover cop. I could never make my parents and wife understand why I didn't want kids. Perhaps they will get it after it's over and they get the news. I don't understand why the guy hasn't pulled the trigger yet.Is he waiting for a que or something? Who knows?It will be in their best interest that they do it right now, for I'm prepared to pay the price for pride.
