Ego, Potential, and the Art of Adaptation

"In the war of ego, the loser always wins". If I had to summarize his whole life up to this moment in a single line, this will be it. The only thing that has driven him to where he is is the fact that he has nothing to lose.He fights with nothing held back, and the only form of defense he knows is attack. It's a shame that with all the potential he has, he chooses not to adapt. He has to understand that boxing is no different than chess. Every move that does and does not get played has a causal effect on the outcome. As a coach, I can only do as much. It is a bit ironic that my own fighting style was quite similar to his, but I too had to adapt; only then was I able to win my first championship. I am convinced that he too is destined for the same if not more.
